Sonja Christopher Women's Issues Wellness & Life Balance Healthcare After being the first contestant to be eliminated from CBS's Survivor, when asked if she would ever apply again, she said "You bet, they just didn't get a chance to know who I was" . Before Survivor, and retiring, Sonya worked as an investment counselor, tennis teacher and elementary school teacher after earning a BS in psychology. In December of 1997, Sonya was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. After treatment, she has resumed a full, healthy life. Her favorite sports include walking, biking, swimming and yoga. She is also a member of the Diable Light Opera Company and Contra Costa Musical Theatre, and also participates in local video and computer clubs.
