When he was elected Governor of Colorado in 1974, TIME called Richard Lamm one of America's outstanding leaders. He is currently director of the Center for Public Policy & Contemporary Issues at the University of Denver, and has always been in the forefront of political change. His controversial stands on tough issues facing our nation have earned him an international reputation.
Today, Lamm continues to be a major voice on contemporary issues.
