Australian actress Nicole Kidman is probably best known for her marriage to superstar Tom Cruise, but she is creating her own cinematic resume that does not list marriage as her biggest accomplishment. She began her acting career at age fourteen and in 1983 she made her television debut in the Australian film Bush Christmas, which became a national favorite and still airs each December. In 1989 she made her film debut in Dead Calm. Her next film was Days of Thunder due to her desire to work with Tom Cruise. Following a whirlwind courtship she and Cruise were married at a top secret Christmas Eve ceremony in Telluride, Colorado. She and Tom starred in Far and Away in 1992 which received mixed reviews. Nicole proved herself more than capable with the film To Die For and shortly thereafter with Portrait of a Lady. Together again she and Cruise starred in Eyes Wide Shut an erotic thriller. She will soon be working on another film with Tom, Criminal Conversation and an adaptation on Berlin Diaries.
