In 1984 Mitch Gaylord led the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team to its Gold Medal victory. After the Olympics, Gaylord was appointed to the President's Council for Physical Fitness by Ronald Reagan. During this time period, he fulfilled numerous speaking engagements, endorsements and appearances across the country. In 1986, Gaylord made his acting debut in Columbia Pictures' American Anthem. In 1988, he hosted his own television series Fan Club, and went on to appear in several commercial ads In 1995, in addition to being inducted in to UCLA's Hall of Fame, Gaylord was called upon by the producers of the blockbuster, Batman Forever, to be the stunt double for "Robin." At the 1996 Centennial Olympics Games in Atlanta, Gaylord served as a journalist/broadcaster providing human interest segments and expert commentary.
