Robert Hormats is Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs (International) and Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 1982, Hormats served as Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs. A former Ambassador and Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, Mr. Hormats also served as a Senior Staff Member for International Economic Affairs on the National Security Council. Mr. Hormats is a past recipient of the French Legion of Honor and Arthur Fleming Award. He is currently a member of numerous boards including the Council on Foreign Relations and the Columbia University School of International Affairs. Mr. Hormats publications include American Albatross: The Foreign Debt Dilemma and Reforming the International Monetary System. He has also been published in Foreign Affairs, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and American Banker.
