Hewitt is a partner with the law firm Hewitt & McGuire, a Visiting Distinguished Professor of Law at Chapman Univ. Law School, and governor Wilson's appointee to the Governing Board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Hewitt is also the co-host of the PBS television news and public affairs show Life & Times which has received numerous awards for its coverage of issues relating to politics and economics. Hugh served on the Reagan Administration from 1984-1989 in many posts including Special Assistant to Attorneys Gen. William French Smith and Ed Meese and Asst. Counsel in the White House. He speaks frequently on issues relating to politics, the economy and leadership.
