With his keen knowledge and impressive experience within all facets of international business and politics, Caspar Weinberger is in high demand as a speaker worldwide. Mr. Weinberger, currently the Chairman of Forbes magazine, and host of World Business Review has been a Director of PepsiCo, Inc., Quaker Qats Co., and the Bechtel Company. He also served as Council to the international law firm of Rogers & Wells, and was Chairman of the Board of the USA-ROC Economics Council. Mr. Weinberger's legendary political career began in 1952, when he was elected to the California State Legislature. He was re-elected in 1954 and 1956, the year he was selected in a poll of California newspaper correspondents as the most effective member of the Legislature. From 1959 to 1968, Mr.Weinberger practiced law, wrote a column for a number of California newspapers, and moderated a weekly public affairs television program in San Francisco. In 1967, he was named Chairman of the California's Government Organization (The Little Hoover Commission) and became California's Director of Finance in 1968. He was appointed by President Richard M. Nixon in 1970 as Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, followed by tenures as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare in 1973.
