A supply-side economist, he devised the "Laffer Curve" that became a mainstay of Reaganomics. He is Chairman of Laffer Associates, an economic research and financial consulting firm. Formerly a Distinguished University Professor at Pepperdine University, he was listed in "A Dozen Who Shaped the '80s" and the Silver Anniversary Issue of July 1992's Institutional Investor. Dr. Laffer has been awarded a Distinguished Service Award in the National Association of Investment Clubs, the Adam Smith Award, and the Daniel Webster Award.
