Joan Lunden is one of television's most versatile reporters and was the longest-running co-host on early morning television, starring on Good Morning America from 1980 to 1997. Named Television's Favorite Morning Anchor by Entertainment Weekly Magazine, Lunden has become one of the most visible women in the country. As the anchor of Good Morning America, Lunden traveled the world and covered myriad historic events, including the 50th anniversary of VE and VD Day, the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics, and the inaugurations of three Presidents. She was one of the only three American journalists to interview Prince Charles during his 1983 visit to the United States. In addition to being one of the most successful women in the media, she is also a nationally known speaker and author. Her best-selling book, Joan Lunden's Healthy Living, shares her discovery of the mind-body connection, and how understanding this connection can help promote better health and create overall satisfaction in life. Lunden has hosted several programs on parenting and her video entitled Your Newborn Baby: Everything You Need to Know, was named Best Parenting Video of the Year by TV Guide magazine. The National Mother's Day Committee selected her as the Outstanding Mother of the Year in 1982-83 for her dedication to motherhood.
